Do you lose stuff in your bedroom? Have you spent countless hours looking for that lost sock or that missing piece of Ms. Johnson's homework? If so, then you need ORGANIZATION! Science is all about organization. Your Mastery Assessment is to create an an infomercial with the purpose of selling the periodic table to a group of very unorganized scientists.


What should you know?

  1. What is an element?-Each of more than one hundred substances interconverted or broken down into simpler substances and are primary constituents of matter.Pure substance made of one kind of atoms.
  2. What are elements made of?-An element is made up of three or more kinds of matter_electrons_neutrons_protons
  3. How are elements different from each other?-They are different because of the number of protons.
  4. How many different elements are there?- 118
  5. In terms of chemistry--what is a property? where the elements /families belong
  6. How are elements on the periodic table grouped? Why?--By increasing atomic number of protom.And the way they are grouped is weather or they are metals or nonmetals ect.
  7. What are the vertical columns and the horizontal rows called on the periodic table? What are their significance?
  8. What are the features of the periodic table? (How do you read it?)- metals, transition metals, Metalloids, Nonmetals, Noble Metals. and you read it by following the key
